How does speech and language, either verbal or nonverbal, play an important part in the Autism community? In this episode, we dive deeper into speech language pathology and how it is interlined into the world of Autism with certified SLP Bridget Karp.
Bridget is a speech language pathologist who holds a Bachelors' in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Washington and a Masters in Speech Lanauge Pathology from Yeshiva University. She shares her story of what made her become a Speech Lanaguage Pathologist and her opinion about how she believes that every Autistic person has a right to their own voice.
Devin and Bridget also recollect inital memories growing up in the same hometown as childhood best friends, getting to better understand what life is like for Autistic individuals, and realizing that it's perfectly normal to not fit the neurotypical norm. This episode will uplift and inspire anyone and everyone who is looking to find their own voice and embrace their own ways of communication.
